Mystery of the Faith Lesson 3

The age of the Churches

There were things taught about this "faith" which they did not understand (a "mystery").  They did not understand (a "mystery") that Jesus would come, be born of a virgin, but would be rejected, crucified, buried, and raised the third day.  They did not understand (a "mystery") that Jesus would ascend to heaven and return at a later time to set up his political kingdom as promised to Abraham.

They did not understand (a "mystery") that while Jesus is in heaven he would develop the local churches.  The local churches are not to replace Israel as God's nation.  The local churches would become the bride and body of Jesus.  They did not understand (a "mystery") that Jesus would return as a thief in the night and the born again believers would be taken out, Raptured.  Then a period of great tribulation would follow on the earth for seven years, to purge and prepare the Israeli nation for the 2nd coming of Jesus to be their King and Savior.  At the end of the tribulation period Jesus, with all of his saints, would return and he would conquer the satanic trinity and the nations of the world, and rule for 1,000 years as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  The Israeli nation would be the administrators of His kingdom.  At this time the "mystery" of  "the faith" would be over and "the faith" would be complete.

1. There were many "mysteries" of "the faith" that the prophets had, one of them was about the  that should come to the Gentiles.

(1 Peter 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:)

to question 1.

2. Another "mystery" of "the faith" was about the  of Christ, and the  that was to follow.

(1 Peter 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.)

to question 2.

3. Another "mystery" of "the faith" was how the  should be , and of the same , and partakers of his  in Christ by the gospel.

(Ephesians 3:1-6 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

2  If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

3  How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

4  Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

5  Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

6  That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel.)

to question 3.

4. Another "mystery" of "the faith" was how that Israel would be blind in  until the  of the Gentiles be come in.

(Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.)

to question 4.

5. After the fullness of the Gentiles be come in, all of  shall be saved.

(Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:)

to question 5.

6. Has God done away with the Jewish people as concerning the promise or kingdom?

(Romans 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.)

to question 6.

7. In order for God not to keep his promise with David, you must   His covenant of the day, night and seasons.

(Jeremiah 33:19-22 And the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, saying,

20  Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;

21  Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.

22  As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.)

to question 7.

8. Was there a rumor in the Old Testament that God had done away with Israel, that they would no more be a nation?

(Jeremiah 33:24 Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.)

to question 8.

9. In order for Israel not to be a nation as God has promised, the earth would have to stop its orbit around the .

(Jeremiah 33:25-26 Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

26  Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.)

to question 9.

10. The condition of the Israeli nation now is that they are  in part to the truth of Jesus as the Son of God.

(Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.)

to question 10.

11. Since Israel rejected Jesus,  is come unto the Gentiles.

   (Romans 11:11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.)

to question 11.

12. Now if the fall of Israel be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of Israel be the riches of the Gentiles; how much  their fullness?

   (Romans 11:12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?)

to question 12.

13. Can the church or anything else take the place of Israel as a nation?

(Jeremiah 31:35-37 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:

36  If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

37  Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.)

to question 13.

14. Even if the law was done away with, can this promise made to Abraham be made of none effect or disannul?

(Galatians 3:17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.)
