Mystery of the Faith Lesson 14

The Judgment of Israel



There were things taught about this "faith" which they did not understand (a "mystery").  They did not understand (a "mystery") that Jesus would come, be born of a virgin, but would be rejected, crucified, buried, and raised the third day.  They did not understand (a "mystery") that Jesus would ascend to heaven and return at a later time to set up his political kingdom as promised to Abraham.

In order for Israel to be the ruling nation of the world, they must be cleansed, which is the judgment of Israel, the tribulation period.  

1. The nation of Israel has become , not the spiritual nation that God wants them to be.  

(Ezekiel 22:18 Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.)

2. In order for Israel to be the spiritual nation that God wants it to be, God will take it through the seven years tribulation period in the following manner.

    A. God will gather Israel out of all the countries wherein they are scattered with a  hand, and with a stretched out arm, with   poured out.  

(Ezekiel 20:34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.)

   B. God will cause Israel to pass under the , tribulation, and He will bring them into the bond of the covenant.  

(Ezekiel 20:37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:)

to question 2B.

   C. God will  out the rebels, and those who transgress against , He will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and the rebels shall  enter into the land of Israel.

(Ezekiel 20:38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.)

   D. "As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine  and in my , and I will leave you there, and melt you."  

(Ezekiel 22:20 As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.)

   E. God will cause the voice of trembling, of fear, and not of  to be heard in Israel.  

(Jeremiah 30:5 For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.)

   F. God will cause the faces of Israel to be turned into .

         (Jeremiah 30:6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?)

  G. This seven years of judgment will be so great, that none is like it; it is even the time of Jacob's ; but he shall be saved out of it.  

(Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.)

3. At the end of this judgment God will set Israel free and they shall serve the  their God, and  their king, whom God will raise up unto them.  

(Jeremiah 30:8-9 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:

9  But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.)

4. At first David will be Israel's  and later David will be their for ever.  

(Ezekiel 37:24-25 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

25  And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.)

5. When Jesus reigns on David's , then David will be their prince.

   (Luke 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:)
