Mystery of the Faith Lesson 17

The Resurrection of Jesus & O.T. Saints

The followers of "The Faith" believed that there would be one resurrection of the saved and lost at the end of the world.  There were things about the resurrection in "The Faith" that they did not understand ("Mystery").
What they did not understand was that there would be two classes of resurrections, the saved (First Resurrection) and the lost (Second Resurrection).
The resurrection of the saved would be in three stages.  Israel was taught to harvest their crops in three stages, (1) firstfruits (tithe), (2) main harvest, and (3) the gleaning for the poor.  So also would be the resurrection of the saved, (1) Christ the firstfruits, (2) the main resurrection of the saved at the rapture, and (3) the gleaning of the saved at the 2nd coming of Jesus which would complete the resurrection of the saved.

The first stage of the resurrection of the saved is Jesus and many of the O.T. Saints.

(Leviticus 23:10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:)

2. In a Jewish harvest of a crop, after they had brought in the firstfruits, they would have the main , but they were not to make a clean riddance of the  of the field, neither gather any , for this was to be left for the poor and the stranger.

  B. At the 2nd Coming of Christ those who were saved during the tribulation period, that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus and the Word of God and who had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands are raised and they  and reign with Christ a thousand years.
