John 19:13-18 --- FBC, Ada

I. Jesus looked forward to this Passover...why? Luke. 22:15-20

    A. Jesus is the Passover Lamb. 1 Corinthians 5:7

    B. Jesus is the Lamb of God. John. 1:29

II. Jesus was crucified on the feast day of the Passover...why? John. 19:14

    A. To fulfill the 1st of 7 feasts of the Lord which are feast of prophecy. Leviticus 23:1-2, 5

        1. Mystery made know. Colossians 1:25-26

    B. On Abib 14th or April 14 our cal. Every year the Jews were to observe the Passover.

    C. On April 10 a lamb is set aside till April 14 then it is to be killed. Exodus 12:3-6

    D. On April 14 the blood of the lamb is to be placed on the door posts. Exodus 12:7

    E. The Lord will Passover the houses with the blood and the destroyer will not kill the firstborn. Exodus 12:23

III. The Passover taught about Jesus.

    A. Jesus is the Lamb of God. John. 1:29

    B. Jesus was crucified on the feast day of the Passover...why? John. 19:14

    (Lord's Supper)

    C. The blood of Jesus is to be placed over your soul (door post = cross).

    D. You have forgiveness only by the blood of Jesus. 1 John 1:7-10

    E. How do you apply the blood of Jesus to your life?..repent..confess. Romans 10:8-11
