Genesis 44

Romans 8:28

I. Joseph’s final test of his brothers. Vs. 1-2

II. Would Joseph’s brothers protect Benjamin or abandon him?

    A. Joseph commands his steward to put his cup secretly into Benjamin’s sack. Vs. 1-2

    B. The sons of Israel depart with the corn they had purchased. Vs. 3

    C. Joseph commands his steward to pursue them and charge them with having stolen his cup. Vs. 4-6

    D. Joseph’s brothers excuse themselves and protest their innocence. Vs. 7-8

    E. They offer to submit to be slaves should the cup be found with any of them. Vs. 9-10

    F. Search is made, and the cup is found in Benjamin’s sack. Vs. 10-12

    G. They are brought back and submit themselves to Joseph. Vs. 13-16

    H. Joseph determines that Benjamin alone, with whom the cup is found, shall remain in captivity. Vs. 17

    I. Judah pleads for Benjamin, and offers himself to be a bondman in his stead. Vs. 18-34
