I. Israel’s prophecy concerning his sons. Vs. 1-33

    A. Israel calls all his sons in. vs. 1-2

    B. Prophecy about Reuben. Vs. 3-4

       1. First-born Vs. 3

       2. The strength of Israel Vs. 3

       3. The excellency of dignity Vs. 3

       4. The excellency of power Vs. 3

       5. Unstable as water Vs. 4

       6. Will not excel, because he defiled Israel’s bed Vs. 4

    C. Prophecy about Simeon and Levi. Vs. 5-7

       1. Instruments of cruelty are their weapons Vs. 5

       2. Enter not into their secret Vs. 6

       3. Let not your honour join their assembly Vs. 6

       4 In their anger they will kill a man Vs. 6

       5. In their own will they will dig down a wall Vs. 6

       6. Cursed be their anger, which is strong Vs. 7

    D. Prophecy about Judah. Vs. 8-12

       1. Thou shall be praised. Vs. 8

       3. Your brothers will bow down before you. Vs. 8

       4. You will have the strength of a young lion. Vs. 9

       5. You will conquer your prey. Vs. 9

       6. You will use wisdom as an old lion. Vs. 9

       7. You will be fierce if provoked. Vs. 9

       8. The scepter, lawgiver, and Shiloh refer to the Messiah, which shall be of Judah. Vs. 10

       9. The Messiah shall be the gathering of all people. Vs. 10

       10. The Messiah will be the chief vine. Vs. 11

       11. The Messiah shall redeem the world by his blood (wine & grapes). Vs. 11

       12. The Messiah will look upon sin justified by his blood. Vs. 12

       13. The Messiah’s word as milk to our souls. Vs. 12

    E. Prophecy about Zebulun. Vs. 13

       1. Shall dwell at the haven of the sea

       2. Shall be a haven for ships

       3. His border shall be unto Zidon.

    F. Prophecy about Issachar. Vs. 14-15

       1. A strong donkey couching down between two burdens Vs. 14

       2. His rest will be good Vs. 15

       3. His land will be pleasant Vs. 15

       4. Will bow his shoulder to bear Vs. 15

       5. Will become a servant unto tribute. Vs. 15

    G. Prophecy about Dan. Vs. 16-18

       1. Shall judge his people Vs. 16

       2. Shall be a serpent by the way Vs. 17

       3. An adder in the path Vs. 17

       4. Will wait for the salvation of the Lord Vs. 18

    H. Prophecy about Gad. Vs. 19

       1. A troop shall overcome him Vs. 19

    I. Prophecy about Asher. Vs. 20

    K. Prophecy about Joseph. Vs. 22-26

       1. A fruitful bough Vs. 22

       2. Archers will grieve, shoot, and hate him Vs. 23

       3. His bow abides in strength Vs. 24

       4. His strength will come from God Vs. 24

       5. A shepherd Vs. 24

       6. The stone of Israel Vs. 24

       7. God will help him Vs. 25

       8. Shall be blessed from heaven Vs. 25

       9. Shall be blessed from below Vs. 25

       10. Shall be blessed by children Vs. 25

       11. The blessings of his father shall prevail above all Vs. 26

    L. Prophecy about Benjamin. Vs. 27

       1. Shall be as a wolf Vs. 27

       2. In the morning shall devour the prey Vs. 27

       3. At night shall divide the spoil Vs. 27

    II. Israel is to be buried with Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebekah, and Leah. Vs. 29-32

    III. Israel dies after his blessing on his sons. Vs. 33
