Zechariah 1-3

A. A call to repentance. Zechariah 1:2-6

    1. “Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you” Zechariah 1:3

B. Eight Visions

    1. The vision of the Horsemen among the Myrtle Trees.Zechariah 1:7-17

         a. Man riding red horse, followed by red horses speckled and white. Zechariah 1:8-9

         b. Those on the red horses speckled and white had went to and fro through the Earth. Zechariah 1:10

         c. The earth sitteth still and is at rest. Zechariah 1:11

         d. How long will God not have mercy on Jerusalem and Judah? Zechariah 1:12

         e. God’s answer was good and comforting. Zechariah 1:13

         f. God’s is displeased with the nations in that they afflicted Jerusalem and Judah

             more than what God wanted them to do. Zechariah 1:14-15

         g. God will bless Jerusalem and Judah and restore them. Zechariah 1:16-17

     2. The vision of the four horns and carpenters Zechariah 1:18-21

         a. The horns are nations that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem. Zechariah 1:18-19

         i. Babylon, Medes-Persians, Greek, and Romans

         b. The carpenters are to cast out the horns. Zechariah 1:20-21

    3. The vision of a man with a measuring line. Zechariah 2:1-5

         a. To measure Jerusalem. Zechariah 2:1-3

         b. God will be the wall and light for Jerusalem. Zechariah 2:4-5

         c. God will bring the Jews back to Israel Zechariah 2:6-7

         d. Israel is the apple of God’s eye. Zechariah 2:8

         e. God will make a spoil of Israel’s enemies. Zechariah 2:8-9

         f. Jerusalem is to rejoice. God will dwell in Jerusalem. Zechariah 2:10-13

    4. The vision of Joshua the high priest Zechariah 3:1-10

         a. Joshua standing before the angel and Satan accuses him. Zechariah 3:1, Revelation 12:10

         b. Joshua a brand plucked out of the fire Zechariah 3:2, Jude 1:23

         c. Joshua clothed with filthy garments Zechariah 3:3, Isaiah 64:6

         d. Joshua is cleansed from his sins and clothed with a change of raiment. Zechariah 3:4-5, Isaiah 61:10

         e. A charge to Joshua to follow God. Zechariah 3:6-7

         f. The BRANCH, Jesus, will come as a corner-stone. Zechariah 3:8-9, Isaiah 4:2; 11:1, Jeremiah 23:5, 1 Peter 2:6-8

         g. Israel will be restored. Zechariah 3:10
