I. Teachings about future events. Matthew 24:1-51 [Mark 13:1-37; Luke 21:5-36]

    A. Destruction of the Temple foretold. Matthew 24:1-2

    B. The disciples privately wanted to know the signs of his coming and the end of the world. Matthew 24:3

    C. Signs of the last days before the Rapture. Matthew 24:4-13

       1. False Christ. Matthew 24:4-5

       2. Wars and rumors of wars. Matthew 24:6

       3. Nation against nation, kingdom against kingdom. Matthew 24:7

       4. Famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places. Matthew 24:7

       5. All the above are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:8

       6. Persecution. Matthew 24:9-10

       7. False prophets. Matthew 24:11

       8. Love will wax cold (indifference). Matthew 24:12-13

    D. Signs of the Tribulation Period. Matthew 24:14-24

       1. The gospel will be preached to everyone during the Tribulation Period by three angels. Matthew 24:14; Revelation 14:6-11

       2. The abomination of desolation will stand in the Holy Place of the Temple. Matthew 24:15

       3. The tribulation will be greater than anything since the beginning of the world. Matthew 24:16-22

       4. The Anti-Christ with great signs and wonders will deceive the Jews. Matthew 24:23-24

    E. Signs of the Second Coming of Christ. Matthew 24:25-31

       1. Everyone will see the Second Coming of Christ. Matthew 24:25-28

       2. It will be immediately after the Tribulation Period. Matthew 24:29

       3. Great signs in heaven as Jesus will come in the clouds. Matthew 24:29-3

    F. Signs of the last days before the Rapture. Matthew 24:32-41

       1. Budding of the fig tree, the development of the land of Israel. Matthew 14:32-35

          a. One of the generation that sees the beginning of the development of the land of Israel will still be alive at the rapture. Matthew 24:34

       2. No one knows when the Rapture will happen. Matthew 24:36

       3. At the time of the Rapture the world will be like the days of Noah. Matthew 24:37-41

          a. The world will be wicked.

          b. No one will pay any attention to the warnings.

          c. The saved will be taken (Rapture), the lost will be left for the Tribulation Period.

    G. Be expecting the Rapture today. Matthew 24:42-51

       1. You need to be expecting the Rapture today or your house could be broken up. Matthew 24:42-44

       2. If you are expecting the Rapture today and are faithful, you will be rewarded. Matthew 24:45-47

       3. If you are not expecting the Rapture today and are not faithful, you will be punished. Matthew 24:48-51
