Acts 3


I. A lame man healed. Vs. 1-11

    A. The hour of prayer. Vs. 1

       1. Many of the Jews would gather at 3 PM in the temple to pray.

    B. Peter and John went together into the temple to pray.

    C. A man lame from his birth was laid at the Gate called Beautiful. Vs. 2

       1. He was there to ask alms of those who entered into the temple.

    D. The lame man asked alms of Peter and John. Vs. 3

    E. Peter gets the lame man’s attention. Vs. 4-5

    F. “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” Vs. 6

    G. Peter takes the lame man by his right hand and lifts him up. Vs. 7

    H. Immediately his feet and ankle bones are healed. Vs. 7

    I. The lame man that was healed entered the Temple walking, leaping, and praising God. Vs. 8

    J. All the people were filled with wonder and amazement at what they saw. Vs. 9-10

    K. All the people gathered around Peter and John in the Temple at Solomon’s porch. Vs. 11


II. Peter preaches to the Jews. Vs. 12-26

    A. Do you think that we have power to heal the lame man? Vs. 12

    B. God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has glorified his son, Jesus. Vs. 13

    C. Peter accuses them of killing Jesus. Vs. 13-15

       1. They delivered Jesus to Pilate. Vs. 13

       2. They denied Jesus before Pilate, when Pilate wanted to let Jesus go. Vs. 13

       3. They denied the Holy One for a murderer. Vs. 14

       4. They killed the Prince of Life. Vs. 15

    D. But God raised Jesus from the dead. Vs. 15

       1. We are witnesses of his resurrection. Vs. 15

    E. Through faith in the name of Jesus, the lame man was healed. Vs. 16

    F. You are witnesses of the healing of the lame man. Vs. 16

    G. Peter said that he knew that they did this to Jesus in ignorance. Vs. 17

    H. All that happened to Jesus was the fulfillment of prophecy. Vs. 18

    I. Peter calls for them to repent and be converted. Vs. 19

       1. They are to believe that Jesus is the Messiah.

       2. That they would be forgiven of their sins.

    J. This is the times of refreshing that come from the presence of the Lord. Vs. 19

       1. God has sent Jesus to you as it was prophesied. Vs. 20

       2. That Jesus would ascend to heaven until the restitution of all things. Vs. 21

    K. The times of refreshing was prophesied by Moses in Deuteronomy 18:18-19. Vs. 22-23

       1. “A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me;…….”

          a. Jesus of the tribe of Judah, raised from the dead.

          b. Jesus is the Son of God, He is God.

       2. “…him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you…..”

          a. Jesus as God must be obeyed.

       3. “…And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.”

          a. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36

    L. All of the prophets from Samuel foretold of this day. Vs. 24

    M. You are the children of the prophets. Vs. 25

    N. You are the children of the covenant which God made with Abraham. Vs. 25

       1. “And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 12:3. Vs. 25

    O. God has sent Jesus, whom he raised, to you first. Vs. 26

       1. To bless you as you turn away from your sins. Vs. 26

III. Five thousand men believed and were saved. Acts 4:4
