1. Seven pairs, 14 each of the clean beast.
a. Not seven each, but seven pairs, because of the phrase “take to thee by
sevens, male and female”. The word sevens plural, not singular seven,
was used. If there were just to be seven of each kind, then it would read
“take to thee by seven”.
2. Two of the unclean beasts. Notice the word two, singular was used, not twos.
C. Seven pairs of the fowls of the air. Genesis 7:3
D. It took Noah 120 years to build the ark.
1. God would destroy the angels that married the daughters of men in 120 years.

2. God told Noah to build an ark when Noah’s sons were born. Genesis 6:9-14 3. Noah had time to gather the animals and have them ready for the ark.
E. Now in seven days the rain would start for forty days and nights. Genesis 7:4
F. Noah was 600 years 2 months and 17 days old when the flood started Genesis 7:5-11
G. After Noah, his family, and all the living creatures were in the ark, God shut the door.
