I. Abram and Lot return from Egypt. Genesis 13:1-4
A. Abram and Lot were very rich in cattle, flocks, silver and in gold.
B. Abram went back the mountain between Bethel and Hai.
II. Abram and Lot had to separate. Genesis 13:5-13
A. There was strife between their herdsmen.
B. Abram suggested that Lot go one way and he would go the other way.
C. Lot chose the plain of Jordan.
D. Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan.
E. Lot pitched his tent toward Sodom.
1. The men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked.
III. The covenant to Abram renewed by God. Genesis 13:14-17
A. The covenant was to Abram and his seed. (The word seed singular is used, not seeds plural) Galatians 3:16 “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.”
B. The covenant is to his seed (singular) for ever.
C. Abram’s seed (singular) would be as the dust of the earth.
IV. Abram goes to the plain of Mamre in Hebron and builds an altar unto the Lord. Genesis 13:18
