Genesis 34

I. Dinah defiled. Genesis 34:1-31

A. Dinah the daughter of Leah and Jacob. Vs. 1

B. Dinah went to visit with the women of the land. Vs. 1

C. Shechem defiled Dinah. Vs. 2-3

1. A prince of the country. Vs. 2

2. He took her and defiled her. Vs. 2

3. He fell in love with her. Vs. 3

D. Shechem ask his father, Hamor, to get Dinah to be his wife. Vs. 4

E. Jacob hears about Dinah being defiled. Vs. 5

F. Hamor pleads with Jacob that Dinah might be the wife of Shechem. Vs. 6-12

1. Jacob’s sons are very angry. Vs. 7

2. Hamor wants to have marriage between the families of Jacob and the families of the land. Vs. 8-12

G. The sons of Jacob with deceit agreed with Hamor if all the men would be circumcised. Vs. 13-17

H. Hamor and all the men agreed and were circumcised. Vs. 18-24

I. Simeon and Levi slew all the men. Vs. 25-29

1. They slew all the men on the third day after they were circumcised while they were sore. Vs. 25

2. They slew Hamor and Shechem. Vs. 26

3. They spoiled the land. Vs. 27-28

4. They took the wives and children captive. Vs. 29

J. Jacob condemned Simeon and Levi. Vs. 30-31
