D. Pharaoh gives Joseph permission. Vs. 6
E. Joseph left for Canaan, with his family and a great host of
Egyptians, to bury his father. Vs. 7-9
F. They mourn for seven days at the threshing floor of Atad. Vs. 10
G. After seven days of mourning, they went to the cave of the field
of Machpelah to bury Jacob. Vs. 11-13
II. Joseph comforts his brothers. Vs. 14-21
A. The brothers of Joseph afraid of him since Jacob died. Vs. 14-15
B. They sent a false message to Joseph saying that Jacob wanted
him to forgive his brothers. Vs. 16-17
C. Joseph tells them to “Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it
unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much
people alive. Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you,
and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake
kindly unto them.” Vs. 19-21
III. Joseph dies. Vs. 22-26
A. Joseph died at the age of 110 years old. Vs. 22
B. Joseph saw his grandchildren before he died. Vs. 23
C. Joseph assured his brothers that God would take them out of
Egypt. Vs. 24
D. Joseph requested that when God takes them out of Egypt, they
are to take his body and bury it in Canaan. Vs. 25-26
