A. Samuel clears himself from all suspicion of mismanagement, while the administration was in his hands. VS. 1-5 B. Samuel’s address to the people. Vs. 6-12 1. God’s blessings on them and their fathers. Vs. 6-8 2. Their rebellion and repentance with God’s blessings. Vs. 9-11 3. You wanted an earthly king when God was your king. Vs. 12 C. Now you have a king whom you have desired, Saul. Vs. 13 II. Samuel warns them to obey God. Vs. 14-15 III. Samuel demonstrates the power and judgment of God. Vs. 16-18 A. Samuel calls for thunder and rain at harvest time, and God sends it. Vs. 18 IV. The people repent. Vs. 19 V. Samuel commands them to serve the Lord with all their heart. Vs. 20-21 VI. God will not forsake them. Vs. 22 VII. Samuel commits himself to pray for them and teach them the good and right way. Vs. 23-25
