I. David flees to Nob. Vs. 1-9

A. David goes to Ahimelech the priest at Nob. Vs. 1

B. David tells the priest that he is on a secret mission from the king. Vs. 2

C. David wants bread for his men. Vs. 3-6

1. The priest only had showbread to be offered to the Lord.

2. They could eat the bread if they have kept themselves from women.

3. David said they had.

D. Doeg, the chief of Saul’s herdsmen, saw David. Vs. 7

E. The priest gives David the sword of Goliath. Vs. 8-9

II. David flees to Gath. Vs. 10-15

A. David was afraid of Achish the king of Gath. Vs. 10-12

B. David acted like a mad man and Achish sent him away. Vs. 13-15
