I. David and Bath-sheba. Vs. 1-27
A. David stayed in Jerusalem when Joab went to fight the Ammonites. Vs. 1 B. David walked on his rooftop patio one evening and saw a woman washing herself. Vs. 2 C. David inquired as to who the woman was. Vs. 3 1. Bath-sheba the wife of Uriah the Hittite. D. David had Bath-sheba brought to him, and he laid with her. Vs. 4 E. Bath-sheba became pregnant with David’s child. Vs. 5 II. David tries to cover his adultery with Bath-sheba. Vs. 6-25 A. David has Joab to send Uriah back to him from the war. Vs. 6 B. David asks Uriah how the war was going. Vs. 7 C. David wanted Uriah to spend some time with Bath-sheba. Vs. 8 D. Uriah would not go to his house while others were fighting in the war. Vs. 9-13 E. David sends Uriah back to the war with a letter to Joab. Vs. 14-17 1. Joab is to put Uriah in a place in the battle where Uriah would be killed by the enemy. Vs. 15 2. Uriah was killed by the Ammonites. Vs. 16-17 F. Joab sends messengers to David that Uriah died in battle. Vs. 18-25 III. Bath-sheba mourned the death of Uriah and later marries David. Vs. 26-27 IV. God was displeased with what David did. Vs. 17
