A reed shaken with the wind, a man in soft clothing, or a prophet? B. John is greater than a prophet. Matthew 11:9-15 1. John fulfills Malachi 3:1. Matthew 11:10 2. There is not another human greater than John the Baptist. Matthew 11:11 a. But a Christian is greater than John the Baptist. C. All the prophets and the law prophesied until John. Matthew 11:12-13 D. John the Baptist is Elijah. Matthew 11:14-15 E. John was considered to have a devil, because he did not socialized. Matthew 11:16-18 F. Jesus was considered to be a glutton and a friend of publicans and sinners, because he did socialized. Matthew 11:19 III. Jesus condemns the cities that did not repent at his preaching. Matthew 11:20-24 A. Chorazin, Bethsida, and Capernaum were named. Matthew 11:21, 23 B. Jesus said the punishment for Tyre and Sodom would be less than theirs. C. Tyre and Sodom did not have Jesus preaching in their streets. IV. The prayer of Jesus. Matthew 11:25-27 A. A person can only know God our Heavenly Father through Jesus. V. The great invitation. Matthew 11:28-30 A. Jesus will give you rest. B. We are invited to be yoke with Jesus and learn from him. C. We will find rest in learning how to be meek and lowly in heart from Jesus. D. The yoke of Jesus is easy and His burden is light.
