Typology Lesson 8 Joseph The events in the life of Joseph are types of the events in the
life Jesus.
1. Joseph was
sent by his unto his brethren.

his brethren. (John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my
Father hath sent me, even so send I you.)

3. Was Joseph received or
rejected by his brethern? (Genesis 37:18 And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near
unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.)

rejected by his brethren? (John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.)

5. Joseph was sold to the
Ishmeelites for pieces of silver.
(Genesis 37:28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew
and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for
twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.)

out. 16 And she laid up his garment by her, until
his lord came home. 17 And she spake unto him according to these words,
saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to
mock me: 18 And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice
and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out.

hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him. 15 ¶ And so Pilate, willing to content
the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had
scourged him, to be crucified.)
